FORT MYERS, Fla. (January 24, 2023) Cypress Cove’s scholarship committee has awarded a total of $36,000 in Spring 2023 educational scholarships to 18 employees and employee dependents of its South Fort Myers luxury life plan community. The recent scholar selections mark 200 total scholarships awarded since the program’s inception in 2018. Each scholarship is $2,000 and is sent directly to the college or university.
“Cypress Cove’s outstanding scholarship program has been life changing for some of our team members and their families, especially after facing personal challenges with Hurricane Ian,” said Executive Director Mary Franklin. “With our tuition assistance and flexible scheduling, we make it possible for team members to advance their careers and skill sets through a wide variety of educational opportunities.”
This spring’s class includes scholars seeking undergraduate and advanced degrees as well as technical diplomas from 12 institutions of higher education throughout Southwest Florida and the state.
There are several new scholars, including a pair of brothers who are pursuing undergraduate degrees in the financial sector. The remaining scholars and their dependents work in activities, culinary and environmental services, facilities, nursing and healthcare.
Many Cypress Cove scholars stay and grow their career at Cypress Cove, but they are not required to do so. The scholarships are funded through generous donations from Cypress Cove residents, their families, and team members.
