As Executive Director, Mary manages the day-to-day operations of Cypress Cove which include financial and strategic planning, employee and resident relations, facilities, regulatory compliance, healthcare and health clinic oversight.
Mary first came to Cypress Cove as Director of Resident Services in 2015 before becoming Assistant Executive Director and then Executive Director in October 2020. Mary has distinguished herself as an effective leader, respected by both residents and staff.
Mary received a bachelor’s degree in Recreational Management from Ohio University and has recently earned an Administrator of Assisted Living Certification. She’s a recent graduate of The Chamber of Southwest Florida Leadership Lee program and is a board member of The Chamber of Southwest Florida.
As Associate Executive Director, Matt is responsible for supervision of operations in the skilled nursing, memory care, and assisted living areas, and also works on projects and other assignments to assist the Executive Director. He previously served as Cypress Cove’s Assistant SNF Administrator.
Prior to joining the team at Cypress Cove in 2019, Matt spent seven years at Lee Health, where he played an instrumental role in the design and start-up of the Gulf Coast Medical Center skilled nursing unit.
Matt holds a preceptor certification, which provides The Lodge an opportunity to supervise Florida Board of Nursing Home Administrators’ approved Administrator-in-Training programs. He’s a graduate of Florida Gulf Coast University with a bachelor’s degree in Business Management and currently serves as president of the Florida Health Care Association District XVI.
As Director of Culinary Services, Paul is responsible for assisting with daily operations at Cypress Cove’s multiple kitchens and six dining facilities to provide over 30,000 meals monthly and 350,000 meals annually to residents and guests. Prior to his appointment, Paul served as Executive Chef for The Country Club of Naples. His culinary career includes positions with the Minnesota Twins Player Development Academy for SodexoMagic, Moorings Park, Vasari Country Club, and Quail West Golf & Country Club. Paul is a certified executive chef, dietary manager, and specialist of wine and has earned an Associate of Science degree in Culinary Arts from Johnson & Wales University and a bachelor’s degree in Restaurant and Food Service Management from Florida International University.
Our Director of Facilities Scott Berry is a seasoned professional with broad-ranging experience in facility management, including building construction, property maintenance, risk assessment, and quality assurance.
Scott hails from Waterville, Maine, where he worked as Director of Facilities at Kennebec Behavioral Health since 1996. He has a bachelor’s degree in business management from University of Maine at Augusta and holds IFMA Facilities Management certification.
As the Assistant Skilled Nursing Administrator, Tily oversees compliance with all regulatory agencies and is responsible for the overall management of The Lodge at Cypress Cove. She completed the rigorous administrator-in-training program through the Florida Board of Nursing Home Administrators in 2021 and is a Florida Gulf Coast University Graduate with a bachelor’s degree in Health Science. She is the first to complete such a program at Cypress Cove, with Matt Lessig serving as her preceptor. Tily started at Cypress Cove in 2012 in dining services and has held various roles within the company prior to becoming a Licensed Nursing Home Administrator.
Courtney joined the Cypress family in May 2019 as Benefits Coordinator and was promoted to HR Manager in 2022.
Courtney holds certification through the Society of Human Resource Management, along with an MBA in Human Resources Management from The University of Phoenix and a Bachelor of Science in Business Management from Stockton University.
As Manager of Occupancy and Community Development, Maureen focuses on prospect engagement and sales for Cypress Cove and its expansion, The Oaks at Cypress Cove. Maureen leads a team of dynamic retirement counselors who take a concierge-center approach to sales and relationship management.
She has worked in the Southwest Florida senior living and home care industry since 1988. Prior to joining Cypress Cove, Maureen worked at Greystone and Comfort Keepers where she was responsible for sales, business development, and office management.
Maureen has served as a board member of Meals on Wheels, CAMEO, the Friendship Center Senior Hunger Task Force, and as a co-founder of a volunteer agency serving underprivileged seniors.
As Resident Life Manager, Wendy oversees strategic initiatives, activities, recreational and fitness programming, events and seminars, and the community-wide REACH Wellness program. She also coordinates communication with residents and planning with multiple volunteer resident committees.
Wendy joined Cypress Cove in 2019 as activities supervisor before accepting her role as Resident Life Manager. Prior, she worked as an activities leader and event coordinator with Shell Point Retirement Community.
Wendy is a graduate of the University of Central Florida with a bachelor’s degree in Interpersonal Communications. She is a strong educational supporter having volunteered as a Parent Teacher Organization coordinator and in various roles with Bright Beginnings Early School.
