FORT MYERS, Fla. (December 6, 2023) In a festive celebration of compassion and community spirit, Cypress Cove residents joyously marked their 13th consecutive year of supporting The Heights Foundation/The Heights Center’s annual holiday gift drive. This year, the generous donation exceeded 600 toys and gifts, bringing cheer to the children of the Harlem Heights community. Team members from Cypress Cove, Cypress at Home and Cypress Living also contributed wholeheartedly to this heartfelt cause.
The presentation of these gifts took place on December 4 in Edison Hall at Cypress Cove, as representatives from The Heights Foundation/The Heights Center received the items with gratitude. The donated toys will be added to a collection of gifts, ensuring that parents in the Harlem Heights neighborhood can provide a magical holiday for their children later this month.
“This holiday season poses unique challenges for many families in the Harlem Heights neighborhood, compounded by the aftermath of Hurricane Ian,” noted Heights Foundation President/CEO Kathryn Kelly. “We are profoundly grateful for the enduring support from our friends and neighbors, particularly Cypress Cove.”
Addressing the gathering during the presentation, Executive Director Mary Franklin shared, “Our residents and team members look forward to this gift drive, some gathering items all year long. Whether it’s bicycles, dolls, art kits, or sports equipment, each gift here will make a meaningful impact on the children of Harlem Heights. There is an abundance of love shared at Cypress Cove!”
The Community Advancement Office at Cypress Cove played a pivotal role in coordinating the gift drive, offering shopping services for those who preferred to contribute monetarily. The donations amounted to nearly $7,000, further amplifying the impact of their collective goodwill.
