Seventh Named Staff Scholarship Added at Cypress Cove

Cypress Cove at HealthPark Florida’s employee educational scholarship program has added its seventh named scholarship to a growing list of scholar fund offerings.

Resident Jack G. Brown, a successful executive with Northwestern Mutual, has established the newest named scholarship for awarding annually to a Cypress Cove employee. “I want to encourage and reward those who are ambitious, those who set goals and pursue them to realization,” said Brown.

His words are those carefully selected from a man with knowledge about the benefit of education. They are words from a generous heart. As part of the Cypress Cove family, Brown and his beloved dog are a fixture at community Yappy Hours. He began supporting the Cypress Cove Staff Scholarship program from its inception in 2016, increasing his generosity and most recently establishing the Jack G. Brown Scholarship.

Brown became a Chartered Life Underwriter for Northwestern Mutual in 1958, eventually opening his own agency in Minneapolis. Through the Columns Resource Group, Northwestern Mutual gives the prestigious Jack G. Brown Performance Award in his honor to a financial adviser who demonstrates a strong commitment to their community, leadership and supportive guidance.

Executive Director Michele Wasserlauf says that the employee program “is a wonderful way for residents of our community to financially reward employees for their educational endeavors. Many of today’s college students face difficult financial hurdles and Cypress Cove’s staff scholarships help immensely.”
