Celebrating Achievement: Cypress Honors Scholarship Recipients

Cypress scholars, donors, and guests gathered for a delightful event at Edison Hall in Cypress Cove to celebrate Spring and Fall scholarship recipients. The evening was a significant occasion, with many scholars and donors meeting for the first time. Attendees enjoyed delicious international cuisine and engaging ice breaker questions, which facilitated lively conversations and laughter at the tables.

The event featured a presentation where Cypress leadership recognized all awardees. Each scholar received an honor cord from their donor, parent, or a Cypress representative. These honor cords, consisting of twisted cords with tassels, symbolize the special bond formed between a donor and their scholar.

Since its inception in 2018, the Cypress Cove scholarship committee has awarded 253 scholarships to Cypress team members and their dependents attending schools throughout Florida and the United States. To date, more than $460,000 has been awarded. Each scholarship, currently valued at $2,000, is sent directly to the recipient’s technical school, college, or university. New and returning scholars are encouraged to apply each semester and may receive up to $4,000 per calendar year.

Cypress scholars have pursued a diverse array of educational programs, obtaining associate, bachelor’s, and master’s degrees, as well as various certifications. These programs include political science, criminal justice, nursing, accounting, early education, business and healthcare management, pre-dentistry, psychology, biological sciences, auto mechanics, and technology. The careers these scholars are preparing for will benefit many in the future.

While numerous Cypress scholars continue to grow their careers within the Cypress organization, they are not obligated to do so. The scholarships are funded through the generous donations of Cypress Cove residents, their families, and Cypress team members.

Introducing the Vocational Grant Program
In addition to the existing scholarship program, Cypress is excited to announce a new initiative: the Vocational Grant Program. This program aims to:
*Encourage Cypress Cove, Cypress at Home, and Cypress Living team members to pursue vocational or trade certification education.
*Support team members in covering the costs associated with certification exams, training programs, and course materials.
*Enhance team member retention and satisfaction by demonstrating a commitment to professional growth and development.
*Foster a culture of continuous learning and skill enhancement throughout our organization.
