Cypress Cove residents were treated to an unforgettable evening on Monday, January 29, as nationally acclaimed singer-songwriter Jay Allen delivered a private concert, blending his country-rock music with a powerful message of hope and advocacy. Joining him was NBC2’s Lisa Spooner, who shared her deeply personal story, making the night even more meaningful for all in attendance.

Adding to the evening’s significance, Cypress Cove was honored to have Steve Bahmer, President and CEO of LeadingAge Southeast, in attendance. His presence and unwavering support highlighted the importance of advancing dementia care and supporting initiatives showcased at this event.

Jay Allen has channeled his personal loss—spurred by his mother’s passing from Alzheimer’s in 2019—into a mission to support families affected by Alzheimer’s and dementia. Through his career, he has helped raise over $160 million for Alzheimer’s and dementia research, inspiring countless individuals and families across the nation. His performance at Cypress Cove highlighted his commitment to spreading awareness and hope.

The evening also marked the launch of Cypress Cove’s exciting education and training engagement with world-renowned dementia care specialist Teepa Snow and her Positive Approach to Care® (PAC) Team. Teepa Snow, a leading voice in dementia care, is dedicated to transforming care cultures by providing caregivers with tools and strategies to deliver compassionate and effective support.

Teepa Snow and her PAC Team’s mission is straightforward yet impactful: “Using our talents and abilities to develop awareness, knowledge, and skill with all people, that will transform what exists into a more positive dementia care culture.” Their collaboration with Cypress Cove aims to enhance the already exceptional memory care services at The Cottage, Cypress Cove’s specialized memory care assisted living neighborhood.

This milestone event is yet another testament of Cypress Cove’s commitment to resident-centered innovation and exceptional care, demonstrating leadership in elevating memory care services within the Southwest Florida community.
