Cypress Cove Appoints Campus Medical Director

Jimmy Liu, M.D. of Estero has been appointed Campus Medical Director at Cypress Cove at HealthPark Florida.

Dr. Liu will assume duties on April 1. He will be responsible for the guiding, approval and assistance in overseeing the development, implementation and the monitoring/evaluation of all Cypress Cove’s resident care policies and procedures.  Dr. Liu also will assist in the coordination of medical care across the entire continuum of care at Cypress Cove.

Besides assisting Cypress Cove Director of Health Services, David Gray, in administrative tasks, he will serve as an attending campus physician and will play an instrumental role in coordinating care between physicians and residents.

Dr. Liu is a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine and replaces Dr. Robert Pritt (D.O.) as Medical Director.  Dr. Pritt has announced his intention to return full time to his private practice.  Dr. Liu has most recently served as Hospitalist with the Kymera Hospitalist Group Physician’s Regional Hospital in Naples.  He maintains an Internal Medicine Practice in Estero.

In 2009, Dr. Liu received the Gold Humanism Honor Society award at the University of Pittsburgh for his demonstrated excellence in clinical care, leadership, compassion and dedication to service. He has co-written research publications on such topics as the “Prevalence of Bleeding in Factor V Leiden” and “Long-Chain Omega-3 Fatty Acids and Blood Pressure.”

Assisting Dr. Liu will be Mary Lewis, an Advance Registered Nurse Practitioner (ARNP).  Her primary focus is at The Lodge (Cypress Cove’s skilled nursing and rehabilitation center).
