FORT MYERS, Fla. (July 11, 2022) Cypress Cove’s scholarship committee has awarded a total of $44,000 in Fall 2022 educational scholarships to 22 employees and dependents of its South Fort Myers life plan community. The recent scholar selections mark 182 total scholarships awarded since the program’s inception in 2018. Each scholarship is $2,000.
“Cypress Cove’s outstanding scholarship program has been life changing for some of our employees and their families,” said Executive Director Mary Franklin. “Along with our robust tuition assistance and flexible scheduling, we make it possible for employees to advance their careers through a wide variety of educational opportunities.”
This fall’s scholarship class includes 16 returning scholars and six new scholars, including one mother and son duo. The awardees attend 11 different institutions of higher learning.
The employee scholars work in activities, administration, culinary services, maintenance and nursing. Many stay and grow their career at Cypress Cove, but they are not required to do so. The scholarships are funded through generous donations from Cypress Cove residents and staff.
