222 scholarships have been awarded since 2018
FORT MYERS, Fla. (June 26, 2023) Cypress Cove’s scholarship committee has awarded a total of $44,000 in fall 2023 educational scholarships to 22 employees and employee dependents of the Cypress family of companies. The recent scholar selections mark 222 total scholarships awarded since the program’s inception in 2018. Each scholarship is $2,000 and is sent directly to the technical school, college or university.
“Cypress Cove’s outstanding scholarship program has been life changing for some of our team members and their families, especially after facing personal challenges with Hurricane Ian,” said Cypress Cove Executive Director Mary Franklin. “With our tuition assistance and flexible scheduling, we make it possible for team members to advance their careers and skill sets through a wide variety of educational opportunities.”
This fall’s cohort includes scholars seeking undergraduate degrees and technical diplomas from nine institutions of higher education throughout Southwest Florida and the state. There are 12 new scholars, 10 returning scholars, and a pair of sisters. Nine scholars are pursuing associate degrees, 10 are pursuing bachelor’s degrees and three are attending technical programs. A few of the declared majors of the fall scholars include political science, nursing, accounting, business management, pre-dentistry, psychology and biological science.
Several scholars and parents of scholars work in various departments at Cypress Cove, Cypress at Home, and Cypress Living. Many Cypress Cove scholars stay and grow their career with the Cypress organization, but they are not required to do so. The scholarships are funded through generous donations from Cypress Cove residents, their families, and Cypress team members.
