Louisa Cannamela has been appointed Director of Nursing for Cypress Cove Home Health at the South Fort Myers HealthPark Florida life plan community.
Mrs. Cannamela, an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN), brings to Cypress Cove Home Health’s campus care program multiple years of experience in acute and outpatient care of older adults.
A Southwest Florida native, she most recently served as a healthcare provider within Cypress Cove’s physician clinic services. “Louisa brings our Home Health program a broad skill level that will most certainly help us maintain an excellence of care within this program,” said Lee FP, Inc. President Troy H. Churchill.
Mrs. Cannamela is a graduate with a Bachelor of Science degree from Florida Gulf Coast University and received her Master of Science in Nursing (with certification in Adult and Geriatric Primary Care) from South University in Savannah, Ga.
Her appointment as Director of Nursing at Cypress Cove Home Health is the initial step toward the planned consolidation of services from two highly respected programs – Cypress Cove Home Health and Lee Health’s Aging Life Care Choices – into a dynamic regional home and community-based care provider.
Churchill will serve as interim administrator of the new organization while Mrs. Cannamela’s role expands as director of the organization’s clinical operation. “I’m extremely encouraged by this expansion of service into the Southwest Florida community. It will provide an opportunity for those wishing to age in place to experience the exceptional service and care that both Cypress Cove and Lee Health’s Aging Life Care Choices programs have offered,” said Churchill.
Currently, Cypress Cove’s home health agency – which currently provides individualized care to residents of Cypress Cove – holds a Community Health Accreditation Program (CHAP accreditation).
