Cypress Cove proudly announces that Fran Myers, a distinguished resident, will be recognized as one of the honorees at the highly anticipated 2024 Grande Dames Tea. The event, held on April 18 at the prestigious Broadway Palm in Fort Myers, was completely sold out, highlighting the community’s excitement to honor Fran Myers’ and other honorees significant contributions.
Fran Myers is a beacon of civic dedication, whose unwavering commitment has left an indelible mark on Fort Myers Beach since she made it her home in 1975. Alongside her late husband, Tom, Myers co-owned the renowned Red Coconut RV Park from 1982 to 2023, serving as a hub for numerous annual volunteer initiatives. Her exceptional leadership in the community has been acknowledged through various appointments and accolades, including the historic distinction of being the first female chairperson of the Lee County Port Authority and the longest-serving member of the Lee County Tourist Development Council. Additionally, she is a co-founder of the esteemed Uncommon Friends Foundation.
Myers’ influence extends far beyond business and civic realms. She has played a pivotal role in the development of Fort Myers Beach, assuming influential positions within the Fort Myers Beach Chamber of Commerce and the Beach Kids Foundation. Notably, she initiated the Spirit of the Holidays toy drive, bringing joy to countless children in the community.
Recognized for her outstanding contributions, Fran Myers has been bestowed with prestigious awards such as the Paulette Burton Citizen of the Year and the Sam M. Walton Business Leader Award, reflecting her enduring impact and leadership in Fort Myers.
