The Lodge at Cypress Cove, one of Southwest Florida’s premier skilled nursing and rehabilitation facilities, has earned the prestigious Five-Star Overall Quality Rating from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS).
The rating for the 64-private apartment skilled-living facility is the second top rating received by the community since April when it received a “deficiency-free” report from the Florida Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA).
“We are extremely proud,” said Health Services Director David Gray, “that our hard work and quality care provided by a dedicated staff have been recognized by the CMS. Our top-rated staff is to be commended for their continuous efforts to make The Lodge a special place.”
The Lodge services reach across all spectrum of nursing care – from private long-term care to skilled rehabilitation. The opening this past fall of the 3,500 square foot Mead Therapy Center has been among the many additions in quality care provided for residents of The Lodge. The state-of-the-art rehabilitation Mead Therapy Center also serves as an outpatient service facility.
Only a fraction of Florida skilled nursing facilities receive the acclaimed five-star rating, notes Gray. CMS established the rating program to help consumers, their families and caregivers more easily compare the quality of care and services within nursing facilities.
Ratings are based on three categories of criteria: health inspections, quality measures (measurement that judge the quality of care given to residents) and staffing.
The Lodge’s five-star rating adds to a growing list of quality care ratings that are now held by Cypress Cove. Besides the earned Five-Start CMS rating, the community of Cypress Cove at HealthPark Florida holds the rare distinction of simultaneously holding a deficiency-free report from AHCA at all three of its campus health care facilities – The Lodge, The Inn and The Cottage.
