FORT MYERS, Fla. (November 20, 2021) Cypress Cove’s staff scholarship committee recently awarded a total of $56,000 in spring 2022 educational scholarships to 28 employees and dependents of its South Fort Myers life plan community.
The recent scholar selections mark 161 total scholarships awarded since the program’s inception in 2018. This spring scholars’ class is the largest-ever group awarded to date. Each scholarship is $2,000.
“One of the most inspirational stories emerging from COVID is the persistence and resilience of students,” said Philanthropy Specialist Dr. Z. Allen Abbott. “Cypress Cove scholars embody that determination to succeed in school, at work, and in life.”
This spring’s scholarship class includes 20 returning scholars and eight new scholars. The awardees attend nine different institutions of higher learning: Florida SouthWestern State College, Rasmussen University, University of South Florida, Fort Myers Technical College, University of Florida, Florida Gulf Coast University, Keiser University, University of West Florida, and West Virginia Wesleyan College.
