Construction reaches new heights at 12-acre campus expansion project

FORT MYERS, Fla. (August 2, 2023) The Cypress Cove Board of Directors and Chris-Tel Construction sponsored a topping off ceremony on July 26, 2023 at The Oaks at Cypress Cove campus expansion project in South Fort Myers. This milestone marks significant progress in the construction of this state-of-the-art neighborhood.

“Despite Hurricane Ian, The Oaks expansion project has continued on schedule. It is a true testament to the resiliency of Southwest Florida,” declared Troy Churchill, President and CEO of Cypress Living, in opening comments during the ceremony.

Representatives from Cypress Cove and Chris-Tel Construction provided insightful remarks on the progress of the project and an update of what’s to come followed by the traditional signing of the final roof trusses by The Oaks future residents, local dignitaries, executives and Board members.

“The Oaks at Cypress Cove campus expansion project represents a significant investment in our community’s future,” said Cypress Cove Executive Director Mary Franklin. “Once completed, this expansion will offer state-of-the-art amenities and enhanced smart home residences, further solidifying Cypress Cove’s commitment to providing exceptional living experiences.”

Churchill and Franklin took the opportunity during the festive event to recognize Representative Jenna Persons-Mulicka with a gift in appreciation of her sponsorship and leadership in passing House Bill 1573, which ensures the future viability and financial strength of Continuing Care Retirement Communities across the State of Florida.

Construction project description: The Oaks at Cypress Cove is a 12-acre, gated, luxury retirement home expansion with 24 elevated residences, 24 villas and a clubhouse with an outdoor pool, dining and wellness area. Located at the corner of Summerlin Road and Bass Road, the project is expected to be completed by the end of 2023. Construction costs are estimated at $46 million. The Oaks campus is designed for residents to thrive.
