FORT MYERS, Fla. (July 27, 2022) Cypress Cove has welcomed Stephen Smutak as Resident Services Manager. He will be responsible for assisting independent living residents and their family members through the transition process to a healthcare setting and offer non-medical support.
Smutak has extensive and well-rounded experience in social services, counseling, behavioral health and more in healthcare and community settings. He comes to Cypress Cove most recently from Aristocrat Berea Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Berea, Ohio, where he served as Director of Social Services.
He is passionate about and has worked with wounded, ill and injured active-duty military and veterans in adapted sports and reconditioning programs. A video about his work can be viewed at https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=chU66H1pMno.
Smutak holds a Master of Science in Social Work from Case Western Reserve University and a Bachelor of Arts in Social Work from the University of Akron. He is a certified Adaptive Recreation and Sports Specialist.
