Cypress Cove at HealthPark Florida’s skilled nursing and rehabilitative community (The Lodge) has received a deficiency-free report from the Florida Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA), the highest compliance report.
The report, notes Cypress Cove Health Services Director David Gray, is the highest recognition of quality service a health care facility can receive from AHCA. Recognition of The Lodge means that all three healthcare facilities at Cypress Cove – The Lodge, The Inn (an assisted living community), and The Cottage (a memory care assisted living household) – hold deficiency free status.
“It’s an extremely rare occurrence having all facilities hold this status,” says Gray. “We’re very proud. It’s a true testament to all the hard work and tireless efforts by our staff to deliver the highest quality person-centered living to residents of Cypress Cove.” Under such care, resident choice, purpose and meaning in daily life is promoted. Staff is required to adapt to the changing needs of residents, regardless of their abilities.
Cypress Cove Executive Director Michele Wasserlauf echoed the importance of a deficiency-free report saying that “it is very hard to achieve – it’s a team effort brought about by disciplined training and the organizational efforts by every staff member,” she said.
The facility offers skilled and rehabilitative care to long-term residents of Cypress Cove and to individuals from surrounding Southwest Florida seeking to receive short-term rehabilitation. Opening in 2016, the 3,500 square foot state-of-the-art Mead Therapy Center has provided enhanced therapy services to The Lodge.
The survey process is a detailed inspection of multiple operational and administrative items. All facilities are expected to adhere to an extensive list of rules and regulations designed to ensure the safety, well-being and dignity of each resident.
