In a true testament to the power of community and compassion, Cypress Cove celebrated its 14th year of partnering with The Heights Foundation/The Heights Center for their Holiday Gift Drive. This year, the heartfelt contributions from Cypress Cove residents, along with team members from Cypress Cove, Cypress at Home, and Cypress Living, surpassed 600 toys, electronics and gift cards, spreading holiday magic to children in the Harlem Heights neighborhood.
On December 5, Cypress Cove transformed into a hub of generosity, as representatives from The Heights Foundation/The Heights Center graciously accepted the collection of donated items.
“This is such a stressful time for our families. Their kids are just kids—they see what’s happening in the world, and it’s Christmas time, so they want things. Many of our families struggle just to put food on the table, and you’ve lifted the gift-giving burden for them,” shared Kathryn Kelly, President/CEO of The Heights Foundation. “This is huge that we get to extend all of this love and joy to families in Harlem Heights.”
During the presentation, Cypress Cove Executive Director Mary Franklin expressed heartfelt gratitude and pride in the community’s efforts. “Our residents and team members have shown incredible generosity to brighten the holidays for children in Harlem Heights. From bicycles and dolls to basketballs, art sets, and the hottest toys of 2024, every single gift here will bring joy and excitement. We can all imagine the delight on the faces of babies, children, or teens as they unwrap these special presents on Christmas morning. There is so much love shared at Cypress Cove!”
Cypress Cove’s Community Advancement Office played a vital role in coordinating the Intergenerational Gift Drive, even offering personalized shopping services for residents who wished to contribute financially. Donations totaled over $11,000, significantly enhancing the reach and impact of this incredible initiative.
As the season of giving continues, Cypress Cove’s unwavering commitment to supporting our friends and neighbors in the Harlem Heights community remains a shining example of what can be accomplished when hearts come together for a common cause.
